Micah's malevolent side speaks on Bob Barker

I think it would be really neat if on the very last episode of The Price is Right hosted by Bob Barker, both contestants in the final segment overbid on their showcases.

Bob seems to enjoy giving away prizes so much that this would most likely break his heart and he would have to spend the next year cavorting with one of the former Barker Beauties.

Hopefully Mr. Barker knows it is not acceptable give them away.

Is terrorism still wrong if the target is Hannity’s America?

And where is this place anyway?

What kind of human rights record does it have? Are residents able to book a flight to the relative paradise of Scarborough Country? Can we sanction the remaining residents to death?

Most people in the U.S. appear to not watch the Super Bowl

I find it interesting that it seems like just about everyone talks about the Super Bowl as something that just about everyone watches on the telly and yet, according to the AP (February 7), Nielsen Media has said last years game was watched by "only" 141.4 million people in the land of the free, with an average of 90.7 million people watching at particular points. These are impressive numbers for a show, but still less than half the country watched any bit of the game.

I have tried explaining this to people in recent days, and years, just as a way of bringing up something new to conversations about what to eat at gatherings I'm not invited to and who is going to win the game, but nobody wants to believe me. I guess I could carry the documentation with me, but that would defeat the point in my not very humble opinion.

Until we recognize that OJ Simpson has a constitutional right to appear on television at least as much as Oliver North does, none of us are truly free

I am absolutely angered that News Corp has decided to cancel OJ Simpson's book and television specials. It is outrageous that Oliver North gets more tv time than Simpson. If the football great is not part of tomorrow's Thanksgiving day NFL coverage, I say we all riot.

If I were Jon Stewart…

Tonight at the Oscars I’d begin by saying something to the effect of, “I’m not going to make any Bush jokes tonight because I want FOX News to work tomorrow.”

TV Notes (Jesus in camo, God Bless Cancun and why Steve, why?)

In my effort to not hear about Karl Rove or the Supreme Court, I spent last night watching a little bit of the telly and here are some of the things I observered...

Faith of the American Soldier author Stephen Mansfield was on C-SPAN 2 talking about the great religious warriors of the United States Armed Forces. At one point in the segment, which was from a June 29 speech he gave, Mansfield quotes one soldier as saying that the purpose of religion for him, the soldier, was "I want to know Jesus is in my Fing [this what Mansfield said, which I can only assume means that this Godly soldier has the good sense to not dirty up the war for freedom with bad words] Humvee."

Oh what the fuck can one really say?

Hey Prince of Peace, just jump in the Hummer and we'll go kill some of your fatherdamned ragheads!

Moving on, the Weather Channel had a great piece about some hurricane heading towards Cancun, Mexico and how the people of the city were all dealing with it by getting together in the ballroom of the luxury hotel they were staying at, watching movies, surfing the net and eating at a buffet. How Cancun got rid of poor people is beyond me, but they did it as they were nowhere to be found in either of the two updates I saw on how people in Cancun were dealing with the big, bad weather.

I suggest Bob Geldof and Pat Robertson visit the city to find out how to really "make poverty history."

Finally, for this entry, and, since I have come to believe that the world simply does not work properly, most disturbingly, I a Chevy truck commercials featuring Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now." First it was about voting for Kerry. Now it is about what type of vehicle to buy.
