Rush Limbaugh's ties to Zarqawi
An Iraqi man who lives near site of the bombing that lead to Zarqawi's death "told AP Television News on Friday that he saw U.S. soldiers beating an injured man resembling al-Zarqawi until blood flowed from the victim's nose," the AP writes in an June 10 story.
This news will no doubt make Rush Limbaugh happy, if it hasn't already. On yesterday's edition of his show, he was taking great joy in the news that Zarqawi saw U.S. soldiers before he died. Limbaugh also just assumed that Zarqawi is in hell right now -such little faith in God- where I guess eternal torment isn't even worse if you saw GI Joe shortly before winding down in that place. I"m not sure why this is, but there must be a good theological reason. Otherwise Rush wouldn't have said it.
But just to be fair, and let's assume for the sake of the argument that Islam is a false religion, how do we know that, in his final moments, Zarqawi did not convert to the true faith of God? Was Limbaugh able to read Zarqawi's mind? If so, did he turn this information over to the proper authorities?
These important questions need to be explored.
And if this burning issue seems minor to you compared to believable allegations that U.S. soldiers engage in another brutal act, all I can say is that right now I have no hope that anything will be done about that. Investigating Limbaugh's ties to the terrorists seems more probable.
it's really amazing, people's ability to spin assorted data into a more favorable reality--
1.who knows if Zarqawi even knew who he was seeing for one thing. For another,
2. Wouldn't it be just as plausible that proponents of Zarqawi would see it as proof of his superhuman, heroic status that he survived for a while?

Good point. For all we know, the last soldier who saw Zarqawi alive and looked him in the face saw the face of pure evil. This soldier will be haunted by this image for the rest of his life. Maybe not every second or minute. Maybe not even every year, but it will always be there. 35 years from now he will be making sweet old person love to his new wife and then he will get the flashback and beat her to death. And everyone will wonder why this fine patriot, church elder and upstanding member of the community always kills his new wives.
