Of everything that has been said about Zacarias Moussaoui, I've yet to hear anybody, besides me in rants that are sometimes voiced out loud, point out that there is something strange about how the Justice Department of Team "we are at war" has no problem criminally prosecuting an individual who has admitted to being partially responsible for the events even your grandchildren will probably know as "September 11" (Associated Press, April 22, 2005). They also have no problem declaring people to be an "enemy combatant" and getting rid of all that messy paperwork for the sake of something or other.
This isn't because the Bush Administration finds working this way to be convenient. Oh no. Moussaoui, you see, is a criminal while some Afghan with an affinity for saying "death to America" or engagaing in some other tiny time activity is a mortal threat to America, freedom, God and our way of life.
