I could be wrong, but my hunch is that in 2006…
-More damning revelations about the Bush Administration will come out as will more evidence of past transgressions.
-The situation in Iraq will improve slightly or stay the same from the perspective of the U.S. military.
-There will be a net decrease in U.S. troops in Iraq, but a very small one.
-A “democratic” Iraqi government will come to exist in Iraq, but it will either effectively be a puppet government of the U.S. or unstable due to U.S. attempts to undermine it.
-The trial of Scooter Libby will not happen, but if it does, I will instantly get sick of the whole thing and be known to yell to myself stuff like, “yes, in theory this is important, but it is such a small issue compared to the ‘war on terror’ as a whole.”
-Bush’s poll numbers will improve slightly. This will largely be because we will find out for certain who Team Bush wants the next big enemy in the “war on terror” to be. An attack will not happen, at least not that we know of, but the build up will be clear to all.
-Serious critics of Bush will remain uninfluential.
-Bush will give a speech from the Oval Office where he says, “I can’t believe how gullible and passive you people are. What do I have to do in order to get caught and sent packing?”
-Republicans will keep control of the U.S. Congress.
